With its highly developed color mangement,
precision image rendering engine, cost-effective production
features, and linear workflow, whether your business
requires direct-to-textile or dye sublimation, high-volume
or short-run, TexPrint v.2008 makes it a profitable
reality.
Combined with extensive spot color
and color separation features, TexPrint is in a league
of its own. Superior color management features mean
little, however, if print production is cumbersome,
slow, or confusing. TexPrint v.2008 sets a new standard
with its intuitive interface and intelligently designed
workflow features.
Additional Enhancements
New spool file format that consist of only
one file even when segmentation is used.
New job Cancel function (availability depends on the
printer driver) that terminates the job on the printer
There are options to run 1, 2, 4, or unlimited numbers
of PrintClients on the same PC.
Color Engine
Support of ICC 4 profiles.
Support of device link profiles.
New rendering Intent Relative Colorimetric with BlackPointCompensation
(BPC).
Cost Display for Printed Jobs
It is now possible to display the cost for a job by
using the settings for ink, media, and time set up in
the print environment. This data can also be exported
to a text file that can be imported into other applications
such as Excel to use the information to create bills
etc.
Cut Environment
Similar to the print environment there is now also a
cut environment that allows to set up different
environments and choose them in the JobComposer like
a print environment. The cut environment is limiting
the job size to the current cutting device. Also margins
will be taken into account.
Cut Features
Cutting of tiled or cropped images
Cutting of Image Bounding box
Cutting of PDF files
Cut path as Spot Color
CutClient
The CutClient is similar to the PrintClient. But instead
of hosting print jobs it is hosting cut jobs. There
is a CutQueue similar to the PrintQueue that displays
all the jobs for this device. To identify the next job
that needs to be cut a barcode will be printed on top
of the job that can be scanned with an Barcode reader
(any external USB reader) or even be typed in manually.
It is also possible to change cut parameters (pressure,
speed, device options on some drivers) before the job
is sent to the cutter. No need for re-ripping the job
after changing this parameter.
CxF support
Support of the Color Exchange Format for seamless digital
color communication. It can be used to import / export
Swatch books. Also all color readings in the ErgoRIP
are now saved in this format. This allows to exchange
measurements to other application including the spectral
data.
Density Re-Linearization
It is a well known fact that the behavior of print heads
is changing during the time of their usage. The density
linearization tool was always designed to match this
special application issue. To make a re-linearization
even easier and available to more of our users (also
supported in the light version) we added a re-linearization
wizard which is guiding the customer directly through
the needed steps to create a successful re-linearization.
Enhanced Screen Printing Functions
The screening has been enhanced in respect of moiré
free screening. The new autotype dithering „Screenprinting
(Autotype 3)“ reduces the moiré and supports
now also asymmetric resolutions. These enhancements
make the Screenprinting (Autotype 3) dithering a little
slower than its antecessors. If a faster processing
is needed ErgoSoft offers the possibility to change
the parameters in order to speed up the process by loosing
accuracy.
Estimate Cost
To provide a better production cost control or even
to make the calculation of an offer easier, we added
a feature which allows you to estimate the cost of a
created job. Therefore the snapshot of the used image
together with the parameters set up in the current print
environment for media, ink, and time are used to calculate
the cost. The „Export“ function allows you
to export the calculation into a *.txt file in order
to use this data for offers etc.
Image Add Ons - Seam Extension
The Seam Extension can be used to produce banners where
the borders of the design need to be mirrored to make
the material more stable in that area to e.g. add eyelets.
Image Format
The import option „Image Format“ should
help you to create standard import formats to minimize
the effort of scaling and cropping images which need
to be printed in a certain format. It allows to define
a user defined image format as well as the fitting mode.
You can specify different fitting modes like keep proportion,
rotate to fit, fit width only, fit height only, fit
both, force one side to fit only, fit by margin, fit
by crop, etc. E.g. if you have 100 photos which usually
need to be printed in a certain format, you can define
one image format and just import all needed images.
There will be no more need to edit each image. A image
format can also be applied to images already imported
into the job.
Image Group
The image group function was developed to simplify the
creation of more complicated jobs. It allows to group
a number of images in order to move, mirror, rotate
or duplicate the group without loosing the defined arrangement.
The image group function is most likely known from many
DTP applications.
Job Display
There are several enhancements in the display of the
job to achieve the above mentioned target of making
the work with the JobComposer more powerful, easier,
and more efficient than before. Therefore we enhanced
the resolution of the snapshots which show much more
details than before. Also additional changes on an image
like added color profiles, color replacements, and color
corrections will now be displayed in the job. Also the
previews in the JobCenter or in the Print/CutClients
show these additional changes.
Job Send Control
In order to prevent you from printing jobs which do
not fit on the loaded media size or type, the PrintClient
offers a security feature, which allows you to define
which media size and type is loaded. Only jobs which
fit into the defined rules will be printed. To optimize
the effect of this security feature the guiding rules
can be defined as a default for all PrintClients or
individually for each PrintClient. Thus, this security
feature can also be turned off.
Job Ticket
Often the detailed information about a job is not only
needed in the JobCenter. Therefore we added the possibility
to display the detailed information as a Job Ticket.
The Job Ticket can be selected in the JobCenter and
will be displayed in your web browser. This makes saving
or printing the Job Ticket easy and fast.
JobCenter
The improved JobCenter (former JobQueueViewer) gives
now a complete overview about all print jobs and all
active tools. The JobCenter allows full control about
each job, RipServer, Print or CutClient, as well as
all finished and archived jobs. The JobCenter contains
seven different sections: Printer Id, RIP Machine, Job
Archive, Contour Cut, Print, RIP, and Suspended. In
order to manage your jobs in the most efficient way,
the JobCenter allows to define its appearance exactly
in the way you need it. Additionally it gives you the
full control over the displayed information.
JobComposer
When you start the JobComposer you will notice that
it pretty much looks the same as in version 12. But
in this case the first look is deceptive. We added and
enhanced several functions and dialogs which should
make the work with the JobComposer more powerful, easier,
and more efficient than before.
Management of Snapshots
The fact that a too high number of snapshots can slow
down the software and furthermore may cause communication
problems forced us to redevelop the management of snapshots.
Adding the fact that the snapshots are even bigger in
the new version we implemented a control dialog which
allows you to define specific storage limits for the
hard disk or for each existing snapshot folder. Once
a specific limit is reached the software will delete
the snapshots which have not been used for the longest
time. You can also set a specific limit of last access
after which a folder will be deleted automatically.
To prevent important snapshots from being deleted by
one.
Measuring Function
The measuring function has been changed so that it is
now possible to save the current stage after each page
scanned. It is also possible to scan the same page more
than once to get an average of the measurements. This
helps to reduce problems due to some wrong readings.
If a page is scanned more than once all measurements
can be displayed to be compared.
Multi Core CPU Support
With the integration of Multi Core CPU technology the
RIP process has been accelerated. The time required
to RIP the data on modern systems is half as long as
in the previous version.
New Cut Drivers
MGE I-Cut
Graphtex FC5000 (Multimarks and Repeat)
Summa OPOS XY and OPOS Barcode
OPTIScout
New Production Tools
We expanded and improved the production tools to provide
the needed functionality in the most powerful and user
friendly way. Therefore we redesigned and improved the
JobCenter (formerly JobQueueViewer) and replaced the
PrintQueue by a completely new developed tool called
PrintClient.
On the fly change of print parameters
The PrintClient offers the possibility to change print
parameters like the numbers of passes, unidirectional
or bidirectional printing, heater control etc. without
the need of re-ripping the job. Availability of this
feature depends on the printer driver.
Optimized User Interface
We have optimized the user interface to keep the interface
as thin as possible by providing you as much information
as possible. This makes the PrintClient a user friendly
tool. Additionally, you can start a separate PrintQueue
window that displays all jobs for the printer of the
PrintClient. The additional PrintQueue window gives
you, similar to the JobCenter, the possibility to organize
the order and priority of each job for the printer of
the PrintClient.
Overlay
If you look at the toolbar you will find two new icons.
One allows to activate the overlay mode which gives
you the opportunity to drag images over each other.
The images will automatically be merged to one image
using an overlay. If you hold shift while dragging the
images over each other, the images will be merged using
transparency. You can merge as many images as needed.
The second icon allows to undo and modify an overlay.
Picture Package
Imagine that you have to print standardized jobs containing
one image in different sizes. E.g. a picture of a bridal
couple which always needs to be printed in three different
sizes. The new feature allows to define a package template
which includes place holders in the size and arrangement
in which you want to print the files. Once you saved
this package as a template you can easily load it with
the select a file (e.g. picture of a bridal couple)
which will be printed in exactly the defined sizes.
Several „Fitting“ options allow you to control
the scaling of the images.
PostScript Enhancement
Specify different profiles for image (raster), vector,
and text objects
Named Color replacement in PDF documents
Enable named color replacement for each image in a job
Usage of embedded profiles in PDF documents (RGB and
CMYK)
Specify profiles for each image in a job
Print Marks
Different images might need different print marks and
print descriptions. To cover this need we added a print
mark administration dialog which allows you define different
sets of print marks that can be used in the same job.
Thus, you can select specific print marks for each image.
Adding more power to the print marks feature we expanded
the number of values which can be set: Crop Marks, Register
Marks, and Image Label. Once you have saved a set, you
can easily select it in any job.
PrintClient
As mentioned in the head line, the PrintQueue has been
replaced by a complete new developed tool called „Print
Client“. Keeping the functionality of the PrintQueue,
the PrintClient comes with many enhancements. The new
appearance and the integration of the PrintClient into
the above mentioned JobCenter make the PrintClient an
even stronger tool.
Printer Status Display
Ability to display the printer status like loaded media
and remaining ink in the PrintClient for printers that
are supporting this function (Mimaki, Roland, HP, Seiko,
and Canon)
Replace Colors
The new replace colors dialog now allows to increase
the number of colors to be replaced. Until now, the
numbers of displayed replaceable colors has been limited
to the most used colors. It is now possible to replace
colors that are not in the list of the color replace
window. By selecting any pixel in the preview window
you can add this color to the list of replaceable colors.
RipServer / PreviewServer
The RipServer and the PreviewServer basically remain
unaffected. Since we added more control power to the
JobCenter we decided to move the RipServer into the
background. Therefore the RipServer starts as a tray
icon. If the full dialog is needed it can be maximized
easily by double-clicking on the tray icon.
Usage of Spot Colors
It is now possible to use the spot colors also for color
replacements. Additionally, we added the possibility
to use the density of the black channel or a default
value in case that it is not possible to measure the
used spot color.
Variable Data
This new feature allows to define different objects
like variable images and variable text and combine them
as one image. The layout of the job is made in a special
design mode of the JobComposer. Once you have created
such a job it can be saved as a template.
Based on that template you can define different attributes
for each variable element depending on the object type
that was added. It is also possible to mix static and
dynamic elements in one template. All the settings for
the variable elements can be imported from a text file
or entered manually in the user interface. The big benefit
of this implementation is that static objects are only
rendered once. This function also boosts the range of
possibilities of jobs and applications that can be done
much easier and much faster than before.
White Print Option
The creation of the white data is now handled by setting
up the options in the device options. There is an option
to fill only when no pixel is set, when a pixel is set,
and to fill the complete background.
Zoom Feature
To increase the accuracy of tiling and cropping we added
the zoom function for these tools. It allows to zoom
into the image. When a very high zoom factor is used
it is also possible to display and zoom into the original
file.
